How to Keep your Skin Looking Young
Filled in Mary Kay, Mary KaySkin Care and how to Keep it Looking young
Having been around skin care and make up most of my life, having been
the daughter of a National Sales Director in Mary Kay for a mother, and
make-up not only from Mary Kay but as well from many years of modeling.
The fist thing I want to start with is, never use soap. From my point
of view, all soap.. It isn’t any good for your skin, hands but
especially hair. Switch to a soft cream with Shea butter and NEVER
NEVER EVER choose a product that contains Mineral Oil, Collegan,
petroleum. These products clog your skin and make it impossible for
your skin to get moisture through your pores. You might as well be
using wax. Speaking of your pores.
You want to find a good line of products, that fits your budget as well
as your needs. You’ll want a product that is natural if you can, and if
not, make certain of the above as well as No Animal Testing.
Depending upon age and skin type, will determine the product that’s
best for you, I can recommend many, just let me know your skin type and
age and problem areas and I’ll be happy to suggest them. But what we
want to have in our product line for our skin, consists of the
following:
A good cream cleanser
(they’re usaually quite concentrated so use sparingly) in the line that
best suits your skin. And age. Dry, combination, oily, problem areas,
dry patches, wrinkles, laugh lines, crows feet, all can be reduced
right from the beginning depending upon the cleanser you choose.
Then you’ll want a good Toner. This cleans any residues left over from
the pores and balances the skins ph balance as well as hue and tone.
Next you’ll want a good Wrinkle/Anti Aging serum, there are many
miraculous ones on the market, some for around the eye as well, some
not.
Next, a great eye cream.
As the skin around the eyes is thinner, it cannot absorb many larger
celled moisturizers that come in your everyday cream, causing a dark
look or ever bruising around the eyes. Got dark circles around your
eyes, stop using moisturizer around them, and simply pat a very gentle
anti aging eye cream instead. Also, treating the darkness with slices
of cucumbers still does the trick, or steak, if you like it that way.
Next you’ll need a good daytime moisturizer, I recommend one with at
least a 25 proof SPF, also lightly tinted moisturizers are great for
woman on the go who want a light glow to their skin without having to
get into Foundation and then all that goes along with it, it’s your
natural beauty you’re trying to bring out so enhance your best features.
Finally, an excellent night cream. This allows your skin to renew
itself during the night, providing constant moisture so that when you
awake it’s with a glow instead of dry, cracked and aged skin.
Now, in addition to the above mentioned products I must also recommend the following.....
An Exfoliant. One that’s gentle and that can be used a couple of times
a week. If you don’t have an exfoliant, and money is tight, you can
substitute an over the conter one with simple everday sugar cane. Take
a small amount in your palm and gently mix with small amount of water,
than scrub up and out on your cheeks area, side to side, on your chin
and forhead, and down and out on your nose, and don’t forget your neck,
scrub up and outward, AVOID the eye area. Do this no more than twice a
week and NEVER on the same day that you MASK. These should be separated
by two days generally or at least one. Monday Exfoliate, Tuesday nomal
ruitine, next day Mask. Then next day, neither, and so on.
Finally, and obviously now. A Mask. I prefer a clay mask myself, but
there are literally hundreds to choose from. Apply mask avoiding the
eye area, again read the ingrediants, if it contains what we’ve
mentioned, put it back and find another one. You let it sit about
twenty minutes, until it is dry and itching you and you feel like you
can’t go on another minute before you wash it off. By then take a
washcloth that’s been soaking in hot water, sqeeze excess water and
apply entire washcloth over your whole face. Pat down, and let rest
there till it begins to cool. Then gently wipe away the mask, rinsing
and patting it away gently, or rinsing directly from the sink.
After this step, apply your toner, dab off with cotton balls, your night serum, you night cream and your eye cream.
Your morning routine, wash face, toner, dab off, serum, day cream, eye cream, and voila! Your done.
You will notice a change in your skin within the first few weeks but
especially a couple of months down the line, as stranger and friends
begin to come up to you to tell you how young you look.
A good skin care regimen is a must for us Women, but don’t forget your
husbands too. There are many great skin care lines for men, and you can
make it fun, giving facials to one another. Every day, the polutants,
poisons, chemicals, gases, dirt, grime and oil get into your skin.
Simply washing your face with soap and some sort of cream at night
simply cannot do the trick.
You spend hours waxing
and washing your car, moisturizing it’s seats, having our leather shoes
and jackets treated special, why would you not want to take care of
your own skin as well... Even so... more importantly.
I know the thoughts of money, and the cost, and how you can’t afford
it, but believe me, there are terrific products out there that won’t
break the bank, as well as this simple fact. None of us are getting any
younger, and only while your skin is in this good condition do you
still have the chance to keep your skin looking young... forever. Start
taking care of it now, and you’ll stay looking young for as long as
you’re able.
Take care of your skin. It will take good care of you!
